Samantha Dillehay was born in the middle of nowhere, Tennessee, where she was raised on a healthy diet of country music and Jesus. Her youth was spent masquerading as a boy by chewing tobacco, playing in the mud, and beating up her brother. Dillehay received her B.F.A. from the University of Tennessee in Media Arts. She went on to pursue an M.F.A. in film and video art at the University of Oklahoma. She is a past Momentum Spotlight Award winner through the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, and maintains an active exhibition record both nationally and internationally. Her work meditates on sexuality, gender, and personal identity. Currently, she lives in Ada, Oklahoma where she is an Assistant Professor of audio and video production at East Central University.
